ARDAKAN COMBO MEGA MODULE DR Plant

Chador Malu Mining and Industrial Company (CMIC) signed a contract in 2012 with CPG-PAMIDCO Consortium for supply of a MIDREX® Direct Reduction Plant having an annual capacity of 1.55 million metric tons with the capability to produce hot DRI (HDRI) and cold DRI (CDRI) simultaneously (Ardakan Combo Mega Module Midrex^® Direct Reduction Plant).

PAMIDCO-CPG has contracted with Varia Tarh Pars  for License services, Engineering, Procurement services, Overall supervision and Performance test.

Chador Malu Mining and Industrial Company owns pelletizing, steelmaking and billet continuous casting plants and has intended to complete the steel production chain by establishing a hot/cold-DRI plant besides them Ardakan Combo Mega Module Midrex^® Direct Reduction Plant was constructed in Chador Malu premises close to Ardakan city, Yazd Province, Iran, adjacent to an iron ore pellet plant and steel making plant.

The DRI plant follows the MIDREX NG™ flowsheet, which utilizes natural gas to create reducing gas for making DRI in the MIDREX® Shaft Furnace.

The total commissioning period was around 5 months and achieve the first production successfully. This is one month shorter than MIDREX® Standard commissioning period.
The cold commissioning was started from end of July 2018, the hot commissioning was started on 16th Dec. 2018 and achieved first production on 29th Dec. 2018.

Commissioning of the Ardakan Combo Mega Module Midrex^® Direct Reduction Plant was performed without any significant issues.

Ardakan Combo Mega Module Midrex^® Direct Reduction Plant began commercial and stable operation just after this first production without any major operational issues.
The performance test was also executed successfully only within less than 3 months after the first production without any major issues. The PGT was passed on the first attempt in five days successfully.

This is excellent performance comparing with other MIDREX® Plants.

Arvand Jahanara Steel Co. Steel Making Plant

Arvand Jahanara Steel Company awarded Varia Tarh Pars Co. the contract for Steel Making Plant design review, infrastructure engineering , overal supervision and site supervision services.

Arvand Jahanara Steel Company (AJSCO) intends to establish a steel complex for production of 2.4 million ton/y of hot rolled coils in an area of 250 hectares within the Arvand Commercial and Industrial Free Zone of Khoramshar.
In the first phase of the project the steel making plant which comprised of an electric arc furnace with continuous casting of slab for a capacity of 1.2 million ton/y , will be constructed, and in the subsequent phases the second unit of steel making and continuous casting of slab as well as a pelletizing plant, direct reduction plant and a hot strip mill for reaching the full capacity of 2.4 million ton/y will be constructed.
The geographical position of the area provides the possibility to procure the raw material needed for the complex, either from within the country or from abroad via road, rail way and sea, and to deliver the produced hot rolled coils which would be used in oil and gas, shipbuilding, automotive industries as well as buildings to the local and foreign markets via the same routs.
This complex would reach its expected full capacity after the completion of the main and auxiliary units as well as infrastructure .
